Students who choose the research mode for their master degree are required to choose a thesis topic that is related to the program. However, candidates are also allowed to choose topics of their interest and those related to their work experience and organisational needs. Assessment is by semester progress reports and thesis examination (viva voce). All research works are supervised by a lecturer or a panel of lecturers from the Graduate Faculty.
For Ph.D candidates, the progress of their research is assessed each semester through a progress report. The degree is awarded based on a comprehensive examination (viva voce) of the doctoral thesis submitted by the student at the end of his/her study. All Ph.D research works are supervised by a lecturer or a panel of lecturers from the Graduate Faculty. Co-supervisors may also come from related discipline.
Research areas include foreign direct investment, organizational learning and performance, learning and national innovation system, management of technology transfer, management of venture capital, training effectiveness evaluation, economic development and technological change, recruitment and selection, performance evaluations, training and development, e-commerce, organizational behavior, strategic management, marketing education, entrepreneurial marketing, retail management, small enterprise management, internet marketing, consumer behavior, business ethics, program evaluation, emotional intelligence, training needs analysis, cross-cultural management, and human resource development.
